Signing process
A Schengen Insurance contract from AXA Assistance can only be signed on-line via the site www.axa-schengen.com. Before signing on-line, you have to confirm that you have read all the information, which you will find on this site under the menus: Guarantees, Prices and Modalities, General Conditions of Sale, etc. The premium, plus taxes and contributions, can be paid by credit card at the end of the signing process and after confirming that you have read and accepted the General Conditions. If your payment is accepted, the following documents will be uploaded on-line and sent to you by e-mail to the address you indicated in the signing process:
- General Conditions
- Special Conditions
- Certificate for the attention of embassies and consulates
The data submitted will be stored in the data-warehouse of AXA Assistance as far as is necessary for managing the travel assistance insurance policy. To access that information, please contact AXA Assistance.
The right to cancel
The policyholder, AXA ASSISTANCE or its agent have the right to cancel the policy taken out on-line for a period of 14 days, starting from the date of signing the contract. That cancellation may be notified by e-mail, but must be followed by a registered letter addressed to AXA Assistance, Avenue Louise 166, B-1050 Brussels, Belgium. Any unused premium will be reimbursed pro rata to the time remaining. Attention! It is possible that you will be asked to offer proof of insurance when you enter the Schengen area.
Insurance Ombudsman
The insurance Ombudsman and his team will analyse any complaints you make against :
- Belgian insurance companies that have signed up to the charter
- Insurance brokers
- Datasur

Languages used
Any correspondence with AXA Assistance, whether written, oral, by e-mail or by post must be in French, Dutch, German, English or Spanish.
